Redmi Note 11 Series New Features

Since the days of Redmi Note 7, Xiaomi does their best to introduce some significant feature with each new model. Otherwise, why would you upgrade? Note 11 Series aren’t left behind. Below are the top 3 new features you’ll find in the new series:

  • IP53 Rating: You now get dust and splash protection on all the 3 models. While you can’t swim with your phone, you don’t have to worry about water splashing on the screen.
  • MIUI 13: All three models run MIUI 13 out of the box hence enjoy new privacy features, cool wallpapers, new system fonts and of course performance improvement.
  • Higher Refresh Rate: All models come with at least 90Hz screen refresh rate guaranteeing you a smooth scrolling and better user experience.

Other features you’d find on the Note 11 Series include better processors, amazing build quality and camera upgrades here and there. Speaking of specs, let’s briefly look at the specs of the main models in the Note 11 series.

Redmi Note 11 Specs

The entry level Note 11 rocks a 6.43-inch AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate with up to 1000 nits. Using the phone outside on a sunny day shouldn’t be a challenge. You also get the reliable Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Redmi Note 11 comes with the refined Snapdragon 680 chip. This chip isn’t just first, but at 6nm, you can expect a better battery life from the 5000 mAh the phone packs. As usual, you have options when it comes to RAM (4gb and 6gb) and ROM (64gb and 128gb). Of course, you can always expand the memory via the dedicated microSDXC card slot.

Redmi Note 11s Specs

Want to upgrade from the base model in the Note 11 Series? Go for Redmi Note 11s. Whereas the phone shares some of the specs with the low-priced Note 11, you get a bigger RAM and bigger lenses on both rear and front Cameras.

Redmi Note 11s runs on Mediatek Helio G96 chip. Whereas Helio G96 chip won’t be as kind to the 5000 mAh battery, it’s faster than the Snapdragon 680 you find in Note 11. You can expect smoother gaming and faster switching between tasks on Note 11s.

Note 11s starts at 6GB RAM, with an option for an 8GB RAM coupled with 128GB ROM. So, if you are looking for a bigger RAM, this is your phone. The storage is limited to 128GB as is the case with Note 11, though there is a Card slot for expansion.

The 108MP camera will definitely give better pictures than the 50MP in the regular Note 11. However, the video recording is still limited to 1080p@30fps. In other words, don’t buy this phone if you want to use it for 4K videos.

Other features of Redmi Note 11s include a second-generation Type C port, a side mounted fingerprint and of course decent stereo speakers.

Redmi Note 11 Pro Specs

There are only three reasons, in my view why I’d advise you to go for Redmi Note 11 Pro over Redmi Note 11s, for instance. And the reasons aren’t a dealbreaker for most people just so you know. Anyway, Redmi Note 11 Pro has:

  • Bigger (6.76 inches), Better (Super AMOLED), Smoother (120Hz, HDR10) and Brighter Display (up to 1200 nits)
  • Faster charging (67W instead of the 33W in both Note 11 and 11s).
  • Gorilla Glass 5

If the above improvements are things you can’t do without, then upgrade to the Note 11 Pro. Otherwise, you are better off sticking with the Note 11s.

Redmi Note 11 Pro uses the Octa-core Mediatek Helio G96 chip, has 5000 mAh battery and rocks the same 108MP camera set up on 11s. And no, the camera doesn’t support 4K video recording either.

As for storage, you can buy a 1TB microSD card since it’s limited to 128GB ROM and 8GB RAM.

If any consolation, the stereo speakers are surprisingly good and of course the phone can resist dust and water splash.
